CROSS Applying to Google Season of Docs

Season of Doc icon

The Google Season of Docs brings together the open source and technical writer communities, raising awareness of the benefit of documentation within open source projects. Structured similarly to Google Summer of Code, the Season of Docs aims to increase the number of technical writers who are familiar with open source, providing them with an opportunity to gain experience in contributing to open source projects.

CROSS is applying to be a mentor organization for the 2020 Season of Docs and has created an ideas page for this effort. We invite all interested technical writers to review the current documentation on our participating projects (see Popper and SkyhookDM projects) and reach out to our mentors about their project ideas. While our projects have significant documentation, the project teams have not yet worked closesly with experienced technical writers. Our project mentors have worked with technical writers on previous projects, and have experience reviewing and commenting on technical publications. They look forward to discussing their projects with you and hearing any of your ideas.

The list of accepted organizations will be published on May 11 and the technical writer application period is from June 9 to July 9. For see the Season of Docs site for a complete timeline and other details.
