Abstract:
This lecture will provide an overview of open source licensing, including copyleft and permissive licenses. Issues around open source contributions will also be discussed, including license choice and contributor agreements.
Bio:
Nissa Strottman is Vice President, Technology, IP , Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at Visa, where she works on intellectual property and technology matters, including open source. Prior to joining Visa, she worked on open source, intellectual property, technology transactions, product, and commercial matters at Micro Focus, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Hewlett-Packard Company, Cisco Systems, and Sun Microsystems. Before going in-house, she was in private practice at a patent boutique in Silicon Valley. Nissa received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
